AlBaraka Forum’s 3rd Global Islamic Economy Summit

Capital in the Islamic Economy: Structuring Wealth for Sustainable Development Istanbul Financial Center • 3–6 June 2026

Amanah Islamic Finance Australia was invited to speak at the 3rd Global Islamic Economy Summit in Istanbul, convened by the Al Baraka Forum under the theme “Capital in the Islamic Economy: Structuring Wealth for Sustainable Development.” Held at the Istanbul Financial Center from 3–6 June 2026 and hosted with the support of the Government of the Republic of Türkiye and H.E. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the summit gathered regulators, scholars and industry leaders from across the Muslim world and beyond.

Amanah co-founder Asad Ansari moderated the summit’s fifth panel, on the sector allocation of capital. He highlighted the vital role of small and medium enterprises (SMEs)in driving economic growth, employment and empowerment within the real economy, and raised key questions on how Islamic finance can foster a regulatory environment that attracts capital, encourages entrepreneurship, and develops financing structures serving small businesses, infrastructure and broader economic development — in line with the Maqasid al-Shari’ah.

What is the AlBaraka Forum?

The AlBaraka Forum for Islamic Economy is an independent, non-profit global thinktank dedicated to Islamic economy in its broadest sense. It emerged from the legacy of itsfounder, the late Sheikh Saleh Abdullah Kamel (1941–2020), a pioneer of modern Islamic economics.
